Tacos worthcrossing town for.
Hand-pressed masa every morning, al pastor off a real trompo, and barbacoa on weekends until it runs out. Family run, fast, and no fuss.
Three reasons to come back.
Taco Tuesday
Every taco $2 from 11 AM until close. Yes, that includes al pastor.
Pit barbacoa
We start it the night before. Doors at 7 AM, gone by about 1 PM. Come early.
Breakfast at 7
Egg tacos, chilaquiles and café de olla before work. Out the door in five minutes.
One family, one kitchen, sixteen years.
Doña Rosa opened La Vecindad in 2009 with six tables and one griddle. Today her sons run the trompo and she still makes the salsas every morning before anyone else arrives.
Nothing comes out of a bag. The masa is pressed here, the meat is marinated here, and when something runs out, it has actually run out.
What a normal Tuesday looks like.
What the neighborhood says.
"Best al pastor on Long Point. Period. And the salsa verde actually has heat."
"Showed up at 8 AM on a Saturday for the barbacoa. Worth every minute of the line."
"Fair prices, generous plates, and they treat you like family."
